Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. and Shionogi & Co., Ltd. signed an MOU on joint research for “brain activation and cognitive function improvement by sound stimulation.”

The two companies have been engaged in joint research based on the concept of “enabling long-term intervention and dementia care by naturally stimulating the five senses in a way that is integrated into daily life” since December 2021. They have jointly developed a “sound” that has the potential to strengthen specific rhythmic activity (gamma waves) in the brain, which is necessary for cognitive function in the brain.

Through the signing of this MOU, the companies aim to build further evidence for the development of services through “sound,” such as the natural processing of TV sound and music to strengthen specific rhythmic brain activity.
