Pixie Dust Technologies (PxDT) , a portfolio company of Abies Ventures is innovating in the field of cognitive care using advanced wave control technology. In collaboration with Shionogi Pharmaceutical Co., they developed Gamma Wave Sound™, which modulates everyday sounds to 40 Hz in real time. This technology is suggested to help maintain and improve cognitive function.

In October 2024, PxDT conducted a pilot trial in cooperation with Gakken Cocofan to introduce Gamma Wave Sound™ to the Chair Yoga Exercise programme for the elderly. In this initiative, the placement of the equipment within the facility and the acoustic environment were evaluated, and guidelines for effective programme implementation were assessed.

Furthermore, PxDT and SOMPO Himawari Life Insurance conducted a six-month acceptability study using the kikippa TV speaker, the results of which were announced in the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Dementia Society. The study showed a high level of acceptability, with an average listening time of approximately 127.6 minutes per day among participants, and improvements in cognitive function and awareness were observed.

Through these initiatives, PxDT aims to contribute towards society by proposing a new form of cognitive function care that can be naturally incorporated into daily life.
