Abies Ventures Fund II invested in Patentix Inc., a company developing next-generation ultra-wide bandgap (UWBG) power semiconductors based on the novel material “germanium dioxide (GeO2).”
Abies Ventures Fund ll Investment Limited Partnership has invested in Patentix Inc., whose core business focuses on the research and development of next-generation UWBG power semiconductors based on GeO₂, as well as the manufacturing and sales of wafers.
The practical application of UWBG semiconductors is increasingly anticipated in response to rising power consumption driven by the proliferation of EVs and Al, the growing demand for CO2 emission reduction, the need to address surging energy costs, and the demand for more compact power supply equipment for mobility and other applications. Among UWBG materials, GeO2 has recently attracted significant global attention due to its feasibility and cost competitiveness.
Patentix is recognized as a global leader in the practical development of GeO2 power semiconductors.
